There is a fella that comes into the salon ever four weeks. Often he comes in late and every time with varying degrees of drunkeness. He says completely inappropriate things, with total disregard of anyone of any age in the salon. He happens to be a close talker and laughs loudly at just about everything. He has been know to grab my color brush and fling lightener all over my floormat. He has tried to sit on my lap. He has spun in a cutting chair. He uses the bathroom numerous times per visit. Today he brought us salty snacks.
I'm going to call him Ron.
Ron is one of my favorite salon clients. He is honest and generous and real. He has a great sense of humor and has a kindness about him...and although most people probably find him offensive, I find him adoreable, flaws and all.
So, here's to you, Ron...*cheers*...don't change a thing buddy.

it's worth it
Hello friends! I took a long break because well...writing a blog is harder than it looks. It is great therapy though...and after standing behind the chair all day, listening to people vent and giving out my version of "therapy", it's good for me to do a little bit of venting myself.
For the life of me I will never understand why a person will spend 100 dollars on highlights and color and toner only to turn around and use cheap shampoo that literally strips the color right directly off of the hair. It happens every single day. It is only a matter of time before I get the phonecall..."My color has faded." Hmmmmmmmm....Have you been using the $ .99 shampoo from Family Dollar? Washing your hair every day in scalding hot water? Oh, you have well water? Hmmm...ohhh...and you blowdry and flat iron it without heat protectant? You hate conditioner? I'm shocked that it has faded! It must be the shitty color I use...please, let me give you a refund.
I now only guarantee my work when the professional product that I suggest is purchased. It only took me 18 years to find a product worthy of selling... but thankfully, I finally have. Since a certain company (ahemmm KM*) doesn't pay me to advertise for them, I won't be mentioning names, but I will say this- unless your product is sulphate free, using it will strip your color.
Now that I got that off my chest, I will let you in on a little secret-I have a big project coming and I will be journaling my adventure here....so keep reading and stay tuned...things are about to get crazy.
